Papatyam

Fircamla seni cizebilseydim eger,
Resim olurdun, dunyalara deger,

Soylemek isterdim anlatilmaz hislerimi,
Keskem gorebilseydin icimdeki sevgimi,

Bekleyis

Bu nasil bakis, yakti taa icimi,

Mutlu Son

Guzel yarinlari hep umit etmeli,

Gelin herseyimizi birbirimize acalim,
Guzel yarinlara beraber ucalim,
Hele bi dinleyin su garibim fakiri,
Sonunda ayan olur herseyin zahiri,

Bir kusurumuz var ise af ola,
Dostluk gonlumuze dola,
Fakirin agzindan bir seyler dokuldu,
Varin anlayin oda sadece bir kuldu,

Vuslat

Bi an gelmeyeceksin sandim
Bunaldim,bir anda siire daldim
Siir benim vuslatim oldu sana
Gel bi daha yapma bunu bana

Sen ayrilik nedir bilirmisin guzelim,
Ben hep anne, babayi ozlerim,
Birde buna senin ozlemin,
Baska dert var mi derim,

Askim siradanligimi deldi,
Sevdam taa kapina geldi,
Ne olacak bu fakirin hali,
Gel lutfen biraz anla beni,

Gonlumden tasanlar, misralara dokulur,
Bilirmisin bu fakir hep neyi gorur,
Nurlu bir gelecek var bizim icin,
Yaratana hep yalvaralim bunun icin,

Gurbet

Gurbet iki hece yigidim sozde,
Bu vatan hasreti neden hep icde,
Cahillik degil mi gurbetin sebebi,
Biri cikip buna coktan dur demeli,

Din ve millet sevgisi gonulden tasar,
En degerli nesne fanusta mi yasar,
Yigidim, kalk istikbal boyle olmasin,
Analarin pak kalbi huzunle dolmasin,

Bu garibim soyler kendi ne yapar,
Hicret deyip hep istikbale mi bakar,
Guzelliklere dolmali dunyanin heryeri,
Az kaldi yigidim, parolamiz hep ileri,

Last month we featured1 measurement from Compete.com of the top 20 online video sites, according to its panel. Compete ranks according to “sessions” spent on a site, but it’s interesting to note that the number of unique visitors to one or more of the top 20 sites has increased to 60 million in January from 58 million in December. The online video market appears to be both consolidating and growing.

YouTube2 has lengthened its lead, seeing a 43.3 market share, up from 41.1 percent in December. It’s also seeing 31.7 million unique visitors, up from 29.7 million in December, absorbing much of the unique visitor jump. Nearly every other site also saw an upwards tick in the last month, with the notable exception of MySpace, the number two player.

MySpace3 now has a 16.4 percent share of sessions, down from 19.3 percent last month. That’s 36 million sessions, down from 40.9 in December. The unique visitor difference is a little less drastic; 16 million in January versus 17.6 million in December. Bolt4, which sold itself5 to GoFish to end its lawsuit trouble, also took a hit, as did Top TV Bytes6.

Don’t take these statistics as the end-all-be-all, but "

The Guest

Albert Camus: "The Guest

by Albert Camus. Translated by Justin O'Brien.

The schoolmaster was watching the two men climb toward him. One was on horseback, the other on foot. They had not yet tackled the abrupt rise leading to the schoolhouse built on the hillside. They were toiling onward, making slow progress in the snow, among the stones, on the vast expanse oft he high, deserted plateau. From time to time the horse stumbled. Without hearing anything yet, he could see the breath issuing from the horses nostrils. One of the men, at least, knew the region. They were following the trail although it had disappeared days ago under a layer of dirty white snow. The schoolmaster calculated that it would take them half an hour to get onto the hill. It was cold; he went back into the school to get a sweater.

He crossed the empty, frigid classroom. On the blackboard the four rivers of France, 1 drawn with four different colored chalks, had been flowing toward their estuaries for the past three days. Snow had suddenly fallen in mid-October after eight months of drought without the transition of rain, and the twenty pupils, more or less, who lived in the villages scattered over the plateau had stopped coming. With fair weather they would return. Daru now heated only the single room that was lodging, adjoining"

Prepared Minds: The Power of Simplicity

Prepared Minds: The Power of Simplicity: "John Sculley (while still head of Apple Computer) ... “Everything we have learned in the industrial age has tended to create more and more complication. I think that more and more people are learning that you have to simplify, not complicate. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Business is not that complex. It’s just that there are too many people out there making it complex."
